Buying Your First Home

We are so excited to be joining you on your journey to getting you into your very first home. Buying your first home can be daunting – after all, it’s the biggest purchase most people ever make, and is a huge asset that opens a lot of doors for building wealth.

 

Rest assured, our mortgage brokers always have your best interests in mind. Unlike going directly to the bank, our mortgage brokers negotiate with several different lenders to ensure you the very best deal tailored to your financial situation. 

Our Process

Before the initial meeting, we’ll ask you to do a bit of prep work to ensure you are familiar with the terminology during the process and have access to everything we may discuss in our first meeting. You can view our General Home Loan Terminology here.

At our first meeting with you, we will answer any questions you may have and will talk about your financial situation, what sort of house you’re looking to buy and in what timeframe, if you will be using your KiwiSaver etc.

Application

After the initial meeting, we will send you a list of all documentation needed for your home loan application and will send you all forms that need to be filled out so we can take this to the bank.

Submission

We then begin to set a narrative with the bank regarding your loan application and negotiate with them on what they’re willing to offer you.

Pre-approval

Once pre-approved, you can begin to put offers in on houses you’re interested in. Our lending specialists will work with you to ensure the chances of your offer being accepted are high.

Offer

Once your offer is accepted on a house, you can begin satisfy all bank and sale and purchase conditions before going unconditional. Once the offer goes unconditional and a portion of the deposit is paid.

07

Settlement

Congratulations! You are now in the settlement phase. It is time to sign all documents and pay the rest of your deposit, choose how you’d like your mortgage to be structured and get the keys to your new home.
